Because NewSource is commited to making its resources and workshops available to as many churches as possible, we have decided to offer special pricing for new pastors (those who have been in pastoral ministry for one year or less).  We recognize that the first year of ministry is often the most difficult and want to provide as much as possible to new pastors.

    The Practicing Congregation: Imagining a New Old Church with Diana Butler Bass

    Based on her book of the same name Ms. Bass' workshop is geared toward mainline Protestant church leaders (ordained & lay).  In this event, we explore the changes that have had an impact on mainline churches and the ways in which vital congregations are responding to cultural change as a way of renewal.  We look at the need for structural and spiritual change, issues of tradition (the definitions and uses of tradition in congregations), the practices that make for congregational renewal, and the larger setting of Church cultural, political, and social justice commitments in mainline congregations.
